In the rescue of incapacitated victims in confined space a wristlet is often the gear used to perform the rescue. The wristlet strap is looped around a hand or foot, then the attached rope is pulled by rescuers, tightening around the arm or leg and pulling the victim out of the confined space. Wristlets used in this manner can reduce the number of personnel exposed to the hazardous environment and reduce the length of time to exposure for personnel who are required to enter into the hazardous environment.
