When the potential for dangerous leverage or cross-loading can occur, the WireEye helps keep the carabiner oriented correctly, and the gear where it belongs.
The WireEye is available on the Pirate and rockO frames in 3 stage autolock, and screwlock on the Pirate frame.
- Releasable wire gate gives you quick access to capture and release lines or gear.
- Takes the place of a fixed lanyard pin or captive-eye carabiner when a permanent hold is not needed.
- Use as a standard carabiner with the added benefit of the wire restraint.

Pirate Carabiner Information
The Pirate's robust 0.5" diameter round frame will endure abuse from dirty ropes and metal connectors far beyond stamped carabiners with thin edges. The Pirate's durability matched with Rock Exotica's build quality ensures an impressive service life for the working professional or recreational enthusiast.

Screw-lock Information
First, all aluminum parts are anodized. This is particularly important for the screw-sleeve and gate, since without this coating, it is more susceptible to corrosion. This protective surface also gives the sleeve a smoother spin.
Second, the gate was designed with an enlarged flange at the top. This prevents the screw-sleeve from moving past the end of the gate, whereas with other designs, the sleeve can wear past the last thread of the gate and slip off. The Screw-lock mechanism is available on the Pirate, rockD and rockO carabiners.
